I usually always make my own Christmas/ Birthday cards for friends and family. They're just much more personal than anything store bought. But this year I ran out of time and couldn't make my little cousins one. They were SO jealous and upset when they saw the ones I made for my grandparents. Now I feel kind of bad and so I decided to make them a special card. It's really out-of-season, as it's January in Germany and there definitely aren't sunflowers, overalls or balloons to be seen, but I'm sure they'll appreciate it anyway. It features my blue-eyed, sassy, girly, but adorable cousin "Sophia" on the swing, and the cuddle-bunny "Laura" holding the balloon.
I really miss having main lesson books, where this sort of illustration was a daily chore. Well, not this sort of illustration, but I always chose to draw more than necessary when it came to homework. I loved adorning my main lesson books, for the aesthetic quality and because drawing is meditative and relaxing. It's a really good way to calm down after an intense day, and focus on something beautiful.
