Garden in Limbo

So every day I drive to my old highschool, brush off the funny looks from the gardeners who work on the neighboring property, and sneak in through the chain-link fence on the side of the school building to water my plants. I moved them away from the fence, as they weren't receiving enough sunlight, and placed them next to the other, bigger potted plants in the direct sun. I can't tell where they are more content or not. The pumpkins look a bit sad. I'm not sure if this is because they get too much water, too much sun, their pots are too small or simply because they miss me and the attention they got when they were on my roof. The arugula is splendid, as is the basil. I managed to keep one single tomato sprout alive, and hopefully it'll make it. It has its first set of true leaves, so I'm optimistic. The lettuce... I don't know. It's probably the wrong season, although somehow farmers manage to get it to grow here.

Relocated

sort of depressed lettuce :/

random sprout- not quite sure of its nature or origin

Strong Chard!

Happy Basil

My next idea is to just create a mini-bed in my garden, for root vegetables and maybe some more lettuce. I'm thinking of creating it out of red-bricks and actually doing a bit of masonry. I could build a little brick house and then fill it with soil. It would be awesome to fire my own bricks, but I don't have a kiln, or red clay. I wonder if those bricks even exist here, it seems like such an out-of-place, English-garden idea that I'm not sure how it will work out.
