Saturday was the Honolulu Waldorf School's annual fair, celebrating "A day of fun for everyone!"
It was great being back at the lower school's campus after having graduated. I was able to enjoy the fair without the stress of having to act a certain way, or be anything for anyone (teachers, parents, political reasons.) I took my sister and four of her friends and stayed there for nearly eight hours! The first part of the day was occupied by the May Day celebration; hula and hawaiian chant performances done by the students. It's so sweet to see all the little kids in their lei and hula outfits. Around 12, the fair started, complete with pony rides, rock climbing, dunking booth, tons of food and drinks, talent and puppet shows, live performances by local acrobats and bagpipers, and the HWS circus club. It was so nice to relive some of my own childhood memories, stroll through classrooms with art and main lesson books on display.... takes me back down memory lane.
At the very end, some teachers and students were making biodynamic preparations in buckets. I was so excited that I immediately jumped in and started harnessing the powers of... (energy?) and walked around the grounds, flinging energized horn-silica water to the plants... Best part of the fair for me.
