So I finally got my mom to go on a hike with me. I've only been trying to persuade her for the past 3 years... why it worked today, I'll never know. We hiked the Judd Trail in Nuuanu, also known as "Jackass Ginger." Apparently it got its name from a donkey that was tethered to a tree at the trailhead back in the 1900's. We didn't see any ginger, so not sure what that comes from.
