Rawwwr for Rain

It's like my prayer for rain came true. Just a few days ago I was up on Koko Crater remarking at the dryness of this place, and then "PSHH" zap-BOOOOM! The past few days have just been a downpour. Literally... tons of flooding and so much thunder and lightning (which are quite a rarity here in Hawaii...although have been seen/heard more often in past years..)

It's SO awesome. I just love this weather. Warm rain and that spooky rumble. It's so exciting. Physics can explain thunder and lightning in whatever boring hot-cold-electicity blah blah blah way... but I love the myths about Thor the great Norse, getting grumpy. Or Zeus throwing bolts of lightning around. Brilliant!  I guess the rain-goddess of Hawaii heard my request, because the clouds are just spilling on end.

Maybe she saw the rain dance I did up on the crater...Well today there were about 15 waterfalls rushing off of that beast of a mountain. Exhilarating!

Two songs come to mind:

the 70's disco song "Knock on Wood" (It's like thunder, and lightning, the way you love me is frightening.. oh oh oh baby...)

and Massive Attack's "Pray for Rain..."

I love it... I'm sitting on my garden bench, it's 72° (22° C) and experiencing this weather full blast. GOTTA give it up to Hawaii, for it's awesome weather-observing climate. You get to BE the weather.

Yesterday I spent about an hour playing in the rain with my sister. Just frolicking and laughing, playing tag, having muddy feet and extremely wet hair and clothes. It's awesome. I miss being a kid. So I am being a kid again. Hahahah... this weather makes me so wild. I feel like I should be some jungle animal stalking around in the yard and slyly pouncing on something... like a panther. Rawr. Hehehe.. crazy rain.

aHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
