Near-Death Experience

I nearly died today. Neither because of any dangerous activities on my part, nor from the influence of people, but because I found some goats on my way home from the beach. After the heavenly turquoise-clear swim, that lasted a good 40 minutes, and entailed me battling with the mighty forces of the waves, I drove back home through Waimanalo, passing the all-too-enticing signs advertising for "Cold Coconut" and "Fresh LauLau $2.00," I found a random little petting zoo. On the side of the road that I always drive on. But I've never seen it before. I totally freaked out.

One minute I was admiring the gorgeous ocean, and the next, a donkey was staring at me from the right side of the road. And goats. Oh, My, God! Goats. I couldn't contain my excitement and thoroughly annoyed my sister--the ever faithful passenger when I drive, and I made a sharp-right parking move, onto the dusty side of the road.

I exclaimed, "I'm really sorry, but I have to go. There are goats. Oh, my god," when I saw the exasperated look on her face.

I didn't even have the patience to put on my clothes, and threw a towel around my self and literally ran to the fence. Cute Japanese tourists in their long dresses and sun-hats were taking pictures of themselves making peace-signs in front of the fence, and some local daddies were holding up their princess daughters to let them get a better look. A sign read, "Feed the Animals Welcome."

Whatchu Lookin' At?

It's like we have a connection or something-- joke! I just think they're amazing animals!

I would call him Aberforth Dumbledore

Cool-birds and Elephant Ear Taro

I guess those animals are part of the horse ranch that has always been there... But I'm 100% positive that the piggies, goats and donkeys weren't there the last time I was here.

Definitely not what goats are supposed to be eating ;)
Snuffle Snuffle

These guys were so so sweet. They Mää-ed at me so softly!

Black and White Spotty-Horny was my favorite

I love that random chicken back there!

The Whole Family

Heyyy Brah

HAHAHA.. priceless... All I can say is, "Snälla Pappa mjölkar mig!" for Lina Kalmkvist :D

Ohh, shooo cute!

They also had these interesting turkey-quail looking birds, some sheep, chickens, geese and some taro. I was so, so happy. It was one of those over-endorphin experiences. I still had the good feelings from my 9am run, and from my strenuous first swim in the ocean. And now goats. I nearly couldn't handle it. The thought of stealing one almost crossed my mind. Ahhh, I want a farm. With a dog and goats and chickens and piggies. And bees. And coffee bushes. And a little cafe as well. And fields and fields of mangold and beets! And lots of friends and wwoofers to make it fun :)
